Effect Rules

• If an Invader is saved from destruction (e.g., by the Tsardom of Russia Level 2+), does it count towards effects that check which pieces were destroyed?
  No, since it wasn't actually destroyed.

• What happens to Blight that is replaced with another piece?
  Any Blight replaced during play goes to wherever removed Blight goes: the Blight Card or Blight space.

Elements and Elemental Thresholds

• If I gain an Element in the middle of resolving a Power, may I use that Element to gain a later threshold?
  Yes, you may.

  This can happen, e.g., if the first part of Indomitable Claim reveals an Element on a Presence track, or if the land gets Blighted and the card is Aid from Lesser Spirits.

  Likewise if you lose Elements in the middle of resolving the Power, you may lose further thresholds.

  Note that any parts of the power that have already happened cannot be modified — those thresholds are either already hit or already missed. In particular, any thresholds that modify Speed or Range are checked first (before the rest of the power), and ~or~ choices are made before resolving either option.

General Play

• If you damage an invader and then replace it with another invader, will the new invader enter the game damaged?
  Yes. (Rulebook p. 18) When you replace a piece with another piece, the new piece comes in with whatever damage the original piece had.
  

  For example, if you deal 2 damage to a city and then replace it with a town, that town will be destroyed immediately.

  If you replace a damaged piece with two or more pieces (as when Dissolve the Bonds of Kinship replaces a City with two Explorers), the damage (and Strife tokens, if applicable) get divided between the new pieces as you choose.

Power Cards

• If you sink a board when playing against Russia Lvl 2+, does the Pushed Explorer have to leave the destroyed board?
  Technically, no — but if you try Pushing the Explorer to a land on the sinking board, it can't be destroyed a second time by the same action. It will end up in an illegal state and be placed in the closest legal land.

Scenarios

• In the Dahan Insurrection scenario, if Bringer of Dreams and Nightmares moves Dahan do they do real damage or shadow damage?
  They deal real damage.

  It is the scenario that is causing the damage, not Bringer of Dreams and Nightmares, so its special rule does not apply.

• How does the Transforming Aspect interact with the Dahan Insurrection Scenario?
  The Transform Rather Than Consume Special Rule saves Towns/Cities from destruction and Replaces them instead, so it will not trigger Military Response.

  Constant Raiding is a triggered Scenario Action, so it doesn't interact with Transform Rather Than Consume at all. The Dahan will do Damage normally and potentially trigger Military Response.

Spirits and Innate Powers

• If you gain a flexible Element (e.g., an "Any" Element, or multiple Elements separated by slashes) from something other than a Presence Track, when do you choose which Element to gain?
  When directly gaining flexible Elements from an Action mid-turn, like from Absorb Essence or Lure of the Deep Wilderness’ 3rd Growth option, you must choose a specific Element immediately.
