Aspects

• When the Dark Fire Aspect discards a card with both Moon and Fire to pay for a choice event, how much Energy does that count towards the cost? How about if it forgets the power card isntead?
  2 Energy and 4 Energy, respectively. The discard and forget options for Choice Events check if a card has a relevant Element, not how many of that Element is on the card.

Event Cards

• On the Event card Sacred Sites Under Threat, what are the choices we are choosing from?
  You are choosing between the two bold-faced headings: 'Let the Island's Strength Repulse them' and 'Guard them Yourself, for Well or Ill'. If you choose 'Guard them Yourself, for Well or Ill', then there is a further choice for each Sacred Site with Invaders.

  On the further choice, in each relevant land you basically pay 3 Energy and do 2 damage; or else pay no Energy and destroy 1 Presence from each Spirit there. But the Energy cost is pooled and you pay it one time.

• Can a Spirit pick the top option for Visions Out of Time even if they don’t have 1 Energy or a Power Card that the Event can replace?
  Yes.

  Those are both effects of the choice, not costs, so just do as much as you can.

• When you resolve a Choice Event, do you have to resolve one of the two options?

  The Presence of the Spirit making the choice.

• Which elements does Elemental Boon have for the purpose of Events?
  It is your choice (Branch & Claw rulebook, p. 16).

  This is true whether you are discarding the power as a randomizer, or discarding/forgetting it to get +2/+4 Energy for Choice Events.

General Play

• If an Event or Fear Card has multiple instructions, only *some* of which are "each", how many actions is that? Eg: Dahan Threaten has each player add a Strife, then applies a rule where Strife lowers Invader Health.
  Then the whole Fear Card / Event is one action, with one nested action per "each". (So for Dahan Threaten, each player adding Strife is a nested action within the initial Fear Action.)

  The entire "how many actions is it?" determination is:

  • If it just does 1 thing, it's 1 action.
  • If it has only "each" instructions, it's 1 action per "each".
  • Otherwise, it's 1 action, and "each" instructions cause 1 nested action per "each".

  Up-front conditionals (like on Foreign Dignitaries Visit, Harvest Bounty Harvest Dust, and the "choose one" in Choice Events) aren't part of the action - you check the conditional, figure out which one to do, then proceed as above.

Power Cards

• If Gift of Nature's Connection comes up as an Event randomizer, does it work like Elemental Boon (we get to choose if it has the element or not)?
  No, treat it as it appears - it has no elements. (Unlike Elemental Boons, which has question-marks.)

  In hindsight, this is how Elemental Boon should have worked, since it avoids an exception case / specific rule just for it.

Scenarios

• When a Power Card is played face-down for the Ward the Shores Scenario, which Elements does it have for the purpose of Choice Events that are aided by a particular Element?
  While in play, it contributes no Elements to Choice Events (and you can't Discard it to help). However, it can be Forgotten as if it had the Elements on the face-down side of the card.

Spirits and Innate Powers

• Can Dances Up Earthquakes Forget an impending card when it gains a Major Power? How about to pay for a Choice Event?
  Yes, in both cases — impending cards are still Dances' cards, so they can be forgotten. Discard all Energy on the impending card when you forget it.

  However, Dances can't use them to assist with paying for a Choice Event in any other way. Impending cards are not in play, so they don't contribute Elements for being in play, and they are not in hand, so they cannot be discarded for Elements.
