Blighted Island cards

• If All Things Weaken is out, can the third level of Hold the Island Fast with a Bulwark of Will (Stone's Unyielding Defiance) save adjacent Presence from destruction?
  No. That innate threshold specifies "When a ... Blight card directly destroys Presence". All Things Weaken changes the rules for how Blight destroys Presence, but does not directly destroy Presence itself, it's adding Blight which does so.

Effect Rules

• When a Spirit with an Incarna adds Presence, may it add its Incarna?
  Yes, but only to reposition an Incarna already on the island. If the Incarna is not on the island, it doesn't count as Presence, so it can't be added by an action that adds Presence.

  The Incarna is considered added even if it's repositioned back into the land it came from. (It's not considered moved.)

Elements and Elemental Thresholds

• If you gain presence during the turn (after Growth) and uncover the "any" or another element, can you then use it for other powers?
  Yes, you can start using elements as soon as you gain them. (p. 14) Similarly, if you are able to play a card mid-turn, you get the effects of its Elements immediately.

  (And if some effect were to cover an Element by returning Presence to your track, or destroy a Power card in play, you'd immediately lose access to the elements.)

Power Cards

• If you target yourself with Growth Through Sacrifice and remove your only Presence on the island, is that land still considered "your land"? (So you could re-add a Presence to avoid losing?)
  No - "your land" / "your lands" are checked when you reach that instruction in the text. When it comes time to add a Presence to one of your lands, you have no lands and cannot do so.

  This logic doesn't apply to Moving or Repositioning your only Presence, however - in those cases, there's never a point in time when the Presence is off the island, so you still can measure Range or have a valid "your land".

Spirits and Innate Powers

• When Stone's Unyielding Defiance places a Presence from a +1 Card Play space and gains a Minor Power, can you look at the new Power before deciding where to place a Presence?
  No. There's no point in time when you have added the Presence but it's not already on the board.

  The intent is that this is a triggered action (which makes the timing more obvious) but the special rule would be clearer if it started with "After...".

• When Finder of Paths Unseen reveals its "+1 Range" space by placing a Presence, can it use that to extend the range at which it places that Presence?
  No. The Presence goes straight from the Spirit Panel to the island, there's no point at which the +1 Range is revealed but the Presence isn't already on the island.

• Heart of the Wildfire and Ocean's Hungry Grasp have special rules that refer to "you" adding or moving presence. If another spirit moves your presence (e.g. with Flowing and Silent Forms Dart By), do those rules apply?
  Yes. No ability to move other Spirits' presence existed until Jagged Earth, so the wording doesn't handle that contingency. Apologies!

  More recent printings of these Spirits have adjusted the wording to reflect the intent.

• Can Breath of Darkness Down Your Spine add Presence to The Endless Dark in Growth?
  No, Growth actions aren't Powers.

• How can Ocean's Hungry Grasp get Presence on inland lands?
  With the base set and Branch and Claw, only by using Indomitable Claim (which explicitly says to ignore land-type restrictions – other presence-adding powers do not allow you to ignore the restriction). With Promo Pack 2 / Feather and Flame, Finder of Paths Unseen can potentially make inland lands Coastal with Open The Ways; if you add Presence to such a land while it's Coastal, it doesn't need to remain so for your Presence to remain there.
