Adversaries

• Does the cascade replacement from Habsburg Mining Expedition Level 1 apply to cascades caused by something other than adding Blight to a land with Blight *(e.g., the Sands effect of Varied Terrains)*? How about adding Blight to another land in a way that isn't called a “cascade” *(e.g., Scotland Level 5)*?
  Yes and no, respectively.

  If it's from a Ravage and called a “cascade,” Avarice Rewarded turns it into an upgrade. If it's either not called a cascade or not from a Ravage, resolve the effect normally and don't apply Avarice Rewarded.

Effect Rules

• When Blight is added to a land with Vitality, does it destroy Presence?
  Not if there's enough Vitality to prevent all of the Blight from being added.

  Sufficient Vitality will also prevent extra effects of Blight being added, including those from Mining Rush (The Kingdom of Sweden Level 5), Irreparable Damage (The Habsburg Monarchy (Livestock Colony) Additional Loss Condition), Runoff and Bilgewater (The Kingdom of Scotland Level 5), Fragile Sands (Varied Terrains), and All Things Weaken (Blight Card).

Scenarios

• Can you mix two or more Scenarios?
  You can, but it's not officially supported (they're not tested in pairs), so you'll need to use your own judgment when combining them - what will play well together, how Difficult it might be, and if there are any tweaks you need to make to avoid degenerate situations.

  Scenarios exist on sort of a spectrum between "mods" (Varied Terrains, Elemental Invocation) and "goal-driven" (Ward the Shores). Mixing two Scenarios on the goal-driven end of the spectrum tends to result in more oddness, whereas mixing a mod-like Scenario with others tends to be cleaner (though Difficulty may be notably impacted by synergies / anti-synergies between the two).

Setup

• What counts as the end of Setup for “During Play” Adversary/Scenario effects? And how are they different from “After Setup” effects?
  During Play effects do not affect Setup, but do affect normal gameplay. Setup normally ends with the initial Explore, with normal gameplay starting with the first Spirit Phase, but some Adversaries and Scenarios have Setup instructions that happen after the initial Explore and before the game starts.

  There is no difference between During Play and After Setup effects that happen more than once. With Jagged Earth turning "after" into a key word for Triggered Actions, if "after Setup" were interpreted as strictly as possible, it would make the associated effect happen exactly once, between Setup and Spirits choosing Growth Options on the first turn. With the exception of Guard the Isle's Heart, which explicitly adds an extra step to Setup, "after Setup" effects from Jagged Earth and earlier should be interpreted as "During Play."
