Raisins on Fish Days (second try)
Serves 2-4
Ingredients
Steps
-
Mix almond flour and water in a small saucepan, and set over medium heat. Bring to a boil, and simmer for a couple of minutes until it begins to thicken slightly.

Add the raisins and saffron; reduce heat, and continue to simmer slowly until fairly thick.
-
Remove from heat. Stir in the salt, sugar and coriander.
Notes
This is a retry of
Raisins on Fish Days -- the day after that reconstruction, I noticed almond flour in the grocery aisle, and realized that it might well be closer to the intended effect than what I'd been able to achieve with a too-small mortar and pestle.
Also, I readjusted the timings and proportions based on that first try. This one comes out considerably less sweet, so the flavors of the ingredients come through a bit. Still not much saffron color, but a bit of saffron flavor manages to come through, and works well. Coriander flavor is still pretty muted.
