Creating Your Own Spaces

Viewing someone else's Space and helping with the data is all well and good, but what if you want to create your own Space, to keep track of something else? How do you set that up?
This section will go into a lot more depth about many of the topics covered in Querki Basics. For now, it is aimed at people with a little bit of tech experience: you don't have to be an expert programmer, but it's helpful to be able to "think in data", and to understand how a database or an object-oriented programming language works. I've made Querki as easy to use as possible, but try not to fool myself into believing that organizing data is trivial.
If you are already a Full Member of Querki, feel free to use this as a tutorial, creating the Space I'll be describing here.
This guide has referred a few times to the notion of a "Full Member of Querki". What's that about?
Since Querki is a small company, we're trying to grow in a controlled, gradual fashion. While it would be wonderful for it to turn into an overnight success, it would be a lot less wonderful if we were suddenly overwhelmed by so many new Spaces that the system started crashing.
So to keep this under control, while still encouraging you to collaborate with your friends and family, we've made signing up a two-step process. If you own a Querki Space, you can invite whoever you want to join it, and they can sign up as was described in Joining Querki. At that point, they are Invitees -- people who have been invited into one or more Spaces, but can't create their own Spaces yet.
On a regular basis, we go through and upgrade those Invitees to Full Member status. You'll get an email from Querki when you've been upgraded. You don't have to do anything for this -- all Invitees should get upgraded eventually, and we'll be upgrading folks as quickly as we feel comfortable with. We just want to make sure the system keeps working well for everyone, and doesn't get more loaded than we can cope with before we're ready for it.
So, let's get started by Creating a Space...
