Spell Tracking Explanation
Details
When a spell is sent anywhere other than the discard pile after being cast (e.g. returned to a players hand), that card is considered to be a different copy of the spell. Card effects that would affect the cast copy of the spell will no longer apply.
Example: Nook casts Disintegrating Scythe (Cast: Deal 8 damage. Suffer 1 damage. Instead of discarding this, destroy it or place it on top of any player's discard pile.) using Mystic Orb (Cast a spell in your hand. Return that spell to its supply pile, if able.). If the Disintegrating Scythe is destroyed per the cast effect, it will not be returned to its supply pile. If it is placed on any player's discard pile, it will be returned to its supply pile.
Example: Nook casts Chronal Arc (Cast: Deal 4 damage. You may place this card into your hand.") with Mystic Orb. If he chooses to place the card into his hand instead of discarding it, it is considered to be a new copy of the spell, and Mystic Orb will be unable to return it to the supply pile.
