Millie, H Derren and I Zubin are in college together.

Millie and I Zubin are living together junior year of college. Towards the end of junior year, they break up.

Millie meets Roger Cameron and they quickly fall in love.

Millie and Roger marry.

Roger comes up with the idea of Decameron Enterprises. He pulls in F Ronit as a partner. Millie brings H Derren in as an investor. The company is founded. Millie brings in I Zubin as the first employee.

J Ferdinand, V Leonard and N Stanimir are in college together. They wind up leading Violet Justice, a radical student organization.

N Stanimir burns down the Campus Adminstration building in a fit of zealotry. The leaders of Violet Justice agree to stonewall the police, and the group falls apart.

I Zubin meets Judy at synagogue; they fall deeply in love and marry not long after.

Roger and Millie have Ainsley, their only child.

I Zubin and Judy have Amy, their only child.

V Leonard gets wind of Tagh O'Malley's background, and hounds him out of the VCPD.

Decameron Enterprises is deep in debt and needs to restructure. Roger and company come up with The Accident plot, to get enough insurance money to right the ship. He tried to hire Tagh to do it but fails; Tagh begins to blackmail him.

Judy Zubin begins fighting breast cancer.

Millie and Roger have it out about how little time he is spending at home. He gets more serious about work/life balance, and starts to dote on Ainsley.

F Ronit leaves Decameron to go into politics, and gets elected a State Representative from Violet City.

Judy Zubin passes away from breast cancer.

Seamus O'Malley, who has been pushed all his life into engineering, applies for a job at Decameron. Tagh gets wind up it, and calls Roger, telling him that he'll consider the debt paid if he hires Seamus. Roger basically shrugs and does so.

Seamus comes over to Aidan's church in the evening, asking to talk brother-to-brother. (Note: specifically not under the seal of confession.) They sit in the church refectory for about half an hour, with nobody else around, and Seamus pours out his feelings for Jonathan, and that he has come to realize that he is gay. Aidan is deeply uncomfortable, tries to be sympathetic but is quite firm that, while being gay doesn't make you evil or anything, it isn't in line with God's plan, and isn't appropriate for a good church-going man. Seamus winds up yelling at him in tears and storms out.

3:30 pm: Seamus has a meeting with Roger and Frank Meyer, to attempt to convince them that Sureshot will eventually make its way onto the streets, and wind up killing civilians. They laugh it off, and Roger makes a tasteless remark that it'll only kill poor people. Seamus threatens to quit, and Roger simply shrugs and says that he only got the job as a favor to his father anyway. Seamus screams at them both and storms out. S Antonino hears the blowup, but not what it is all about.

6 pm: Seamus calls Tagh, to demand an explanation of what Roger meant about his getting hired as a favor. Tagh confesses the full story of his involvement in The Accident -- that Roger had tried to hire him for illicit work (which in retrospect was clearly an arson job), and that Tagh blackmailed him for ten years afterwards, $5,000 a month, until Seamus was hired. Seamus asks Tagh who else was involved, but Tagh doesn't know, although it seemed to be more than just Roger. Tagh tells Seamus that Roger is a very bad man, and not to cross him -- better to simply walk away from the company. However, this inspires Seamus to do the killing instead.

Physical Context: the main Decameron office has a circular layout. As you enter the lobby, there are corridors to the left and right, which meet around the back. To the left are irrelevant offices. To the right, just beyond the far right corner as you head towards the back is the copier nook; then you pass the lunchroom, then the Lab (with a key-card entry panel), then Frank Meyer's office. At the back right corner is S Antonino's office, facing down the corridor towards the front. Turning to the back center you next get to Roger Cameron's office (not actually the corner office, but the big one with a small conference space), then C Lennart's, then you meet up with irrelevant-office space.

9 am: As folks are still arriving, Seamus shows up at the office, silent and moody. He goes directly to the lab, quietly picks up the Sureshot prototype, picks up a handful of rounds and drops them in his jacket pocket, and loads it without anyone noticing (it holds four rounds). He puts the gun into a plastic shopping bag that happens to be sitting on his desk in the lab.

9:10 am: Several folks are clustered in the lunchroom, chatting -- Ainsley Cameron, Amy and Isaiah Zubin, Robert Gervasio, Shrivatsa Kiran and Paula Vasilios. Ainsley excuses herself to go use the restroom.

Having steeled his nerve for a few minutes, he walks over to Roger's office, simply says, "I'm sorry, but you're a bad man, and you've hurt too many people", and pulls the Sureshot out of the bag. Roger yells and opens his gun cabinet while Seamus is raising the weapon, and then gets shot. S Antonino, in the next office, dives behind hir desk.

9:12am: Seamus pauses, then walks down the hall towards Frank Meyer's office. He opens Frank's door, says, "I'm sorry, but this can't happen.", and shoots him. S Antonino, having crept over to hir doorway, sees this, then dives back into hir office and huddles against the wall sie shares with Roger's office.

9:13 am: Seamus walks further down the hallway, intending to simply go to the front lobby and surrender himself to the police, with the gun hanging in his hand. He walks past the lunchroom, where several people dive behind the tables. Amy Zubin (I Zubin's 16-year old daughter) sees the gun, screams, and throws herself up to shield her father. Seamus swings around, and accidentally triggers the gun without aiming it at all. It kills Amy. Seamus looks at this in horror, and basically has a nervous breakdown; he runs down the hallway, crying and shaking, screaming "nonononono".

C Lennart, who had been on the other side of the office (on the far end of Roger's office), comes down to investigate, finds Roger dead, comes back out into the office and shakes a bit.

9:14 am: Paula realizes somebody has to do something, and knows perfectly well that Roger keeps a bunch of loaded guns in his cabinet. (Having argued with him about them repeatedly.) She runs over there, past C Lennart, grabs the first gun she finds, and runs back down the hall with it raised.

Seamus reaches the copier nook, where Jonathan has been making copies but is now backed into it against the wall. Seamus sees Jonathan, and basically holds the gun out, not pointed, babbling, "This wasn't supposed to happen. This wasn't what I meant! It's all wrong!".

Paula gets there, sees Seamus with the gun raised, fires and shoots him in the head. She then drops her own gun on the floor, and just stands there in shock for a couple of minutes, while Jonathan sinks to the floor, crying.

9:15am: People start coming out of offices. S Kiran comes out of the lunchroom, down towards Roger's office (right past Frank's office, missing the fact that he is dead), finds C Lennart standing outside it, looks in and screams briefly in shock. Others come running, and people begin to gather around Roger's office, with nobody willing to go in.

9:16am: Ainsley comes out of the bathroom, sees the tableau in the copier nook, and runs away. She gets down the hallway towards her father's office, sees the hubbub, realizes what happened, sinks to her knees and starts sobbing in the middle of the hallway.

9:17am: Chaos is beginning to set in. Carla hears more noises from down the hallway, and walks down it. She sees Frank dead in his office, then walks past the lunchroom where I Zubin is still sobbing over Amy, and R Gervasio is huddled in the corner. She continues on, and finds Paula on her knees, and Jonathan, who has crawled over to Seamus' body. She sees the Sureshot prototype next to Seamus' body, quickly realizes roughly what has happened, and that it absolutely can't become public.

9:19am: She begins to tell P Vasilios and Jonathan, as gently as possible, and this is a crime scene and they need to get out of it until the police arrive. They are both in shock, so she basically herds them out of the copier nook towards the lobby, and tells them to stay there. They collapse on a couch in the lobby and huddle together, crying.

Somebody finally thinks to call the police.

9:20am: She tries to do the same for I Zubin, but he won't budge from Amy's side, rocking and wailing. And R Gervasio won't even acknowledge her presence. So she moves on. She ushers everyone away from Roger's office, down the corridor the other way towards the lobby.

9:21am: Once everyone is away, moving quickly but not too quickly, she grabs her handkerchief, and uses it to grab a gun at random out of Roger's cabinet. Sie knocks another gun down, which falls onto the bottom of the cabinet. She curses quietly, but gets out of there.

9:22am: Moving as quickly as she can without being noticed, hiding the gun with her jacket, she goes past the lunchroom to the copier nook. She puts Roger's gun down next to the Sureshot, then (still using the handkerchief) picks up the Sureshot by the barrel, walks back to the Lab, thinks about trying to find a hiding place, but decides time is of the essence and just puts it down on the lab table.

9:23am: Police begin to arrive. Her heart rate starting to slow a little, Carla walks back down the corridor. She tries to comfort I Zubin, without much luck. She begins poking into offices, and is startled to find S Antonino sitting against the wall in his. She gently encourages him to get up and help out with the police.

9:36am: News crews begin to arrive.

9:45am: The Mayor arrives, and gets a sketchy update of what happened from the beat cops.

10:15am: The Mayor gives a very brief press conference, with just the basic information -- that it appears that an engineer named Seamus O'Malley shot several people before being killed himself -- and asking for everyone to please maintain a respectful calm around this tragedy as the police try to piece together what happened.

10:45am: Game Start.
