The Soapbox
I asked of my apprentice, "What sword goes snicker-snack?"
The answer was immediate, "A vorpal sword." came back.
"What gyres and gimbles in the tulgey wood?" I asked him somewhat snide.
"The cratures are the slithy toves.", he brightly then replied.
"Name the monster faced by brave St George, and answer me with speed!"
"Why sir it is a Dragon, a fearsome beast indeed!"
"So tell me then of monsters feared in every peasants' soul."
The bright boy said, "My Lord, you know the answer is a troll."
So I asked him then, "What creature is that has by Tux been tamed?"
His face then fell, "Please tell me lord, I do not know the name."
Finally, here was a challenge the boy had not yet met.
And so a royal tale about the box the boy would get.
I started in, "A description first of the creature's fearsome looks...
Two spans high and four on a side, is the famous box of Tux.
It has many small feets, and knotholes for eyes, Tux keeps it shining bright.
And it always seems to be there when someone speaks out for the right.
Not only does the box appear when evil rears its ugly head,
But the ones who stand upon the box soon render their foes dead.
But be careful son lest you use the box for your own personal gain,
For the box is wild and even Tux cannot truly call it tamed,
The box comes back to haunt the ones who use it for the wrong,
It is later used to pull them down, by the righteous and the strong.
So use it with a heart so pure and beware temptations hooks,
Lad, use it when your need is great, (and ask permission from Tux !)
