Dealers Choice
The book
Dealer's Choice -- The Complete Guide to Saturday Night Poker -- is pretty much the bible of the subject. It was published in 2005; the authors are:
- James Ernest, renowned game designer and the force behind Cheapass Games.
- Phil Foglio, author of the excellent and highly recommended comic book Girl Genius, among others.
- Mike Selinker, a puzzle writer and game designer involved with things ranging from Dungeons and Dragons to Axis and Allies.
I strongly recommend picking up a copy if you are interested in the topic, especially if you are newish to the world of Dealer's Choice poker -- the book goes into far more detail about how to run a poker table than I do here. It is full of fun illustrations by Foglio, and has over 200 more variants. (A few of which are mentioned here, mainly if we spun further variants off of them, but by and large I'm trying not to copy their work. Buy the Book!!!)
