_commas acts unexpectedly when applied to nonexistent Properties

Summary: If you invoke _commas formatting on an a property that doesn't currently exist, it ends up pointing to (also nonexistent) Thing "commas".

This is another odd consequence of putting Property formatting in the Default View of a parent when the Property only exists on some of its children.

Closed: this isn't repro'ing for me at this point, so I'm going to tentatively assume that whatever it was got fixed somewhere along the line...
