The right short-term fix for this is probably one that I'd been thinking of anyway: when you add something to this property, it gets removed as an option subsequently.

But really, the right fix is to simply hide this property. Instead, the entire list of Properties in Design a Model should become drag-and-drop rearrangeable, with a flag for whether it is instance-editable. Or possibly better, there are separate sections for stuff you edit in instances and stuff you don't, and you drag it into or out of the instance list. I may decide to just implement this soon.
