The _QLLink function effectively puts a hard linebreak after the link text unless you specify a target, because it auto-creates a div beneath itself to put results into. This is not intuitive, though I'm not sure whether it should be fixed or merely documented. (Once you know about it, working around it is as easy as specifying a dummy target.)
