Icon buttons look kinda crappy

Summary: The Bootstrap styling that we are using for the icon buttons winds up blurring the edges of the icons. I think we need to change this.
I suspect that we need to, eg, shift to hard-colored buttons without gradients. But this needs some experimentation.
