I should be able to use thumbnails with my photo carousels

Summary: The original design for Photos was thumbnail-centric; now, we're focused on carousels. Ideally, we should have both available and easy to use.
My vision here is that the standard carousel should have a bar at the bottom, with appropriate icons. If you touch that, it pulls down a side-scrollable display of the thumbnails in this carousel, and you can select any slide from its thumbnail.
This would, I believe, completely rock -- it would be pretty much state of the art. Let's plan to do this.
