I should be able to easily duplicate a Thing

Summary: Not quite sure how to fit this into the UI without it being annoying, but it's easy to implement in principle.

Might add it as a function first -- that's genuinely easy, probably a half-hour job.

The only issue is that this is probably not something that most people need at all often, so it fails the "must fight for its life" filter for the standard UI.

Maybe come up with a general mechanism for managing what gets exposed in your UI? I'm thinking here something like the controllable toolbars in every good Windows application, where there are a set of standard buttons, but potentially tons more you can add if you like. Might even provide a way to add a button or menu item that invokes arbitrary QL. That could be a really nice feature in the long run, providing the ability to customize your view to your tastes a bit.
