I can receive Notifications via email

Summary: This is a table-stakes features that everyone is going to want, so we will need to implement it sooner or later.

Initially (until the cost of email is cheap enough for us), we'll probably do a stripped-down "digest" form of this, where you get a daily summary of your new Notifications. Eventually, we might up this to per-Notification, possibly on an opt-in basis.
