I can edit a photo that I have uploaded into Querki

Summary: From a conversation about Kate's Craft Gallery: one friend remarks that she likes to do some simple editing of her photos, in iPhoto. Ideally, it would be good if we could do something similar with Querki.
This one's challenging, but it's worth thinking about how the workflow might go. Are there any plugin photo-editing libraries we could use? Should we think of this as trying for a seamless export/import cycle with an editing package?
