Chrome on Android keeps losing session

Summary: When I use Chrome on my phone or tablet, the login session doesn't stick around very long - it logs me out without me wanting it to.
As I suspected might be the case, the problem is that we are using session cookies instead of persistent ones. I hadn't noticed this because I pretty much never actually close my browser, and Chrome for Windows keeps session cookies pretty much indefinitely.
