Can / should Properties use Display Name instead of Name?

Summary: Currently, I believe that Create Property sets the Name of the Property. But the rest of the world is turning Display Name centric. Should Properties use Display Name too?
Counter-argument: you have to use Name in QL. So having a Property whose Display Name doesn't match the Name could be very confusing and unfortunate.
